JAMMU: The Indian men and women volleyball teams have been selected for the participation in the 18th Asian Junior Men’s (u-20) and Women’s (u-19) championships respectively.
The men’s championship will be held at Chinese Taipei from 9th to 17th July 2016 while the women’s championship is being organised at Thailand from 23rd to 31st July, 2106.
“I expressed thanks Indian Olympic Association (IOA) and Sports Authority of India (SIA) for recommending Indian junior men and women team for participating in above said championship,” Secretary General of Volleyball Federation of India, Ramavtar Singh Jakhar in a handout issued on Tuesday said.
Hailing from Poonch border district of Jammu and Kashmir, Saqlain Tariq has made his State proud by making it again to the Indian junior volleyball team for the Asian Championship. “Saqlain Tariq, son of Tariq Khan, has got selected to junior Indian volleyball team. He was selected by Volleyball Federation of India,” Chief Executive Officer, Volleyball Association of Jammu and Kashmir, Kuldip Magotra said. Patron, Volleyball Association of Jammu and Kashmir, Raj Daluja and President, Sidharth Daluja, in their message, congratulated VFI for selecting teams for Asian championships.
