JAMMU: A mahan Gurmat Samagam was organized at Marh Bagh under the patronage of Sant Tejwant Singh Ji dera Mukhi Sant Pura Danna where large number of devotees from all over the JKUT participated in the Samagam. The Samagam was held for dedicating the newly constructed building. The Gurmat Vidyalya Educational Research Centre aims to provide free CBSE education for class 6th, 7th, 8th, & 9th, coupled with religious studies and knowledge of Sri Guru Granth Sahib.
The research centre’s vision is to foster eminent Parcharaks and research scholars focusing on the Sikh ideology of “Manas Ki Jaat Sabe Ek Pehchanbo” and oneness of mankind. Distinguished guest who were present over there and while addressing the Sangat paid rich tributes to the missionery Zeal of Sant Gurbaksh Singh Danna for spreading education along with spiritual knowledge. Following the footsteps of Sant Gurbaksh Singh Danna present Dera Mukhi Sant Tejwant Singh took an initiative to construct a Educational research centre along with hostel facilities to free education to boys students from underprivileged section of society both formal as well as religious studies.
Ragi Jatha’s of Jagtar Singh, Jagir Sing, Davinder Singh and Children of SGSD International School managed by Sant Purs Danna Charitable Trust recited Shabad Kirtan.
Manjit Singh Gen Sec and J P Singh President of the management Committee of the Vidyalya gave the detail of the project and Balvinder Singh Vice President DGPC Jammu, Ranjit Singh Tohra President DGPC Jammu, Surjit Singh Gen Secretary DGPC Jammu, Tejinder Singh, Harjit Singh, Avtar Singh, Ranvir Singh, Karan Singh all members DGPC Jammu appreciated the efforts of Sant Tejwant Singh for dedication such a wonderful gift to the community which will help in producing eminent Scholars in the years to come.
Sukhraj Singh Head Granthi Gurudwara Bath Sahib who had been deputed by Harjinder Singh Dhami President SGPC Amritsar to attend on his behalf as he couldn’t attend the function because of an unavoidable circumstances.
Other distinguished personalities who were present and addressed the Sangat included Gurmukh Singh Ex Minister, Charanjit Singh Khalsa Ex MLC, Jatinder Singh Ex Chairman Cantonment, Surinder Singh advocate, H.S Raina, Amrik Singh,, Ravinder Singh Ex Director School Education, Arvinder Singh Aman Ex Adl Secretary J&K Academy of Arts Culture and lanhuages, Bhai Balwant Singh Parcharak and Varinder Singh Sonu PDP spokesperson.
