Sanskrit scholars meet Dy CM; demand due share in Govt jobs

JAMMU: A delegation of Sanskrit scholars led by president of Kailakh Jyotish Avim Vedic Sansthan Trust, Mahant Rohit Shastri met Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh here on Thursday.
The delegation demanded due share in government employment for Sanskrit Scholars especially in education sector. They also called for making Sanskrit language compulsory from Class VI students in JKBOSE syllabus to enable students learn the language from childhood and adopt it as a regular course in their studies. They also demanded separate scholarships for Sanskrit scholars. Dr. Singh assured them that he would project their demands before the state and central governments, besides taking up their issues with the Union HRD Ministry.
