Sandhya scores quick-fire fifty as Hyderabad thrashes J&K by 92 runs

RAJKOT: Talented opening batter Sandhya Gora scored a brisk half-century as formidable Hyderabad thrashed Jammu and Kashmir by a big margin of 92 runs in the U-19 Women’s T20 Trophy at Sanosara Cricket Ground-B, Rajkot here on Tuesday.
Earlier, put into bat, Hyderabad rode on a power-packed innings of 61 runs off just 50 balls, studded with 11 delectable boundaries by Sandhya Gora and her magnificent opening partnership of 90 runs with Kavya (38 runs off 31 balls) to score a good total of 147 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 5 wickets in the process.
Both the openers were brilliant with the willow, hitting the ball with sublimity, solidity, elegance and fluidity. Apart from these two, Gayatri Chowhan and Katta contributed unbeaten 11 and 8 runs respectively.
For J &K, Mahika Singh Rana and Rhidima Rajput bagged 2 wickets each, while Mariya Noorain claimed one wicket.
In reply, J&K managed to score just 55 runs in the allotted 20 overs by losing 7 wickets, thus lost the match by a huge margin of 92 runs.
Only two J&K batters–Alisa Jan (11) and Ridhima Rajput (11) crossed the double figure mark.
For Hyderabad, Deekshitha was the pick of the bowlers, who took 2 wickets by conceding just 4 runs in her 3 overs, while Kesari Drithi, Vaishnavi Yadav, Jazmine Gill and Katta claimed one wicket each.
Jammu and Kashmir will take on Punjab in the next outing at Sanosara Cricket Ground-A, Rajkot tomorrow.
