Sandeep Mehta assumes charge of SSP Special Crime Wing, Crime Branch Jammu

JAMMU: JKPS 2001 batch Senior Superintendent of Police, Sandeep Mehta today assumed the charge of SSP Special Crime Wing, Crime Branch Jammu in pursuance to the recent order issued by Home department J&K Government.

On his arrival, he was received by the senior officers of the SCW, Crime Branch Jammu. After taking the charge, SSP held an initial meeting with the officers and sought an overview of the functioning and crime position of the wing.

Pertinently the Special crime wing of crime branch has been created by J&K Govt by virtue of S.O No. 232 in the year 2022. The mandate of SCW Jammu is to investigate the cases falling under the categories of Any serious Crime having Political motive and offences connected with Arms and Ammunition, Theft of Government Arms/Ammunition and illicit trade in Arms, Fraud and Cheating Cases below rupees 20 Lakhs, Cases of Cinematography, Video piracy and Copy Right, Cases of Trade Marks Act, Cases of Dacoity and House Breaking by an adopt gang, Cases of Theft, Dacoity and Extortion by organized gangs and Cases of Immoral Trafficking.

In the introductory meeting of all the officers, Mehta impressed upon them to work with zeal and dedication to come up to the expectations of common masses. Special Crime Wing Jammu is premier investigating agency of J&K which is committed to fulfil the aspiration of all the victims of various frauds and crimes.
