Samprati releases Kanwal’s Shabd Kun Pai

JAMMU: ‘Shabd Kun Pai’ a latest book of Sahitya Akademi awardee, poet, writer Makhan Lal Kanwal was released by Samprati at a function organised here at K L Sehgal Hall on Tuesday.

Besides the author, M.L Kanwal, the presidium was adorned by Dr R.L Shant, Aseer Kisthwari and Dr R.L Bhat.

After the ‘Mokh Havy’ (release) of the book two papers were presented on this book. The first paper was created by Dr. Rattan Lal Talashi but presented in absentia by veteran poet writer P.N Shad.

According to this paper this book is a rich treasure of words with it uniqueness of artistic presentation. The second paper was presented by Dr. P.N Trisal veteran linguist, who presented an insightful paper with his unique linguistic approach of a professor.

Paying rich tribute to the words used in this book Dr. Trisal said it is a great good presentation from all angles. Dr. Trisal, however, said references made about dates and times seem a bit confusing even though wondrous to which M.L Kanwal elaborated through his illustrations from his work.

The inaugural address was presented by Dr R.L Bhat President Samprati who spoke about the mission of Samprati to promote quality literature and bring it to the people. He also announced future programmes of Samprati including the coming meeting of general body on the 13thof June at KP Sabha and publication of an Enthology on Exile. Dr Bhat pointed to the premonition of exile in Kanwal’s two latest books Shabd Kun Pai and Yath Aangu’nas Manz.

The programme proceedings were conducted by Dr. R.L Saraf, Vice President of Samprati.

Dr Saraf also recited a poem on title of the Kanwal’s book. Presenting the vote of thanks Kundan Paaras, Secretary Samprati promised many such programmes in near future through Samprati.

M.L Kanwal spoke about this book in his presentation to the hall full of noted literatures, academicians, personality of art world.

The audience, including M.L Kemmu, J.N Sagar, M.L Saraf, H.N Tiku, A.K Naaz, Santosh Shah Naadaan, A.N Pandita, S.L Koul, M.K Raina, Satish Vimal, M.K Ledu, M.K Santoshi, Pradeep Koul, R.L Jawhar, M.L Pandita, Prem Nath Prem, P.N Ganjo, K.L Pandita, Pyare Bhan, J.L Saroor, Tej Sagar, Bimla Aima, Adarsh Ajit, B.K Sanyasi, S.K Tiku, B.N Abhilash, G.K Muju, Professor H.L Misri and Dr M.K Malla gave a cheering ovation to the senior poet of Kashmir, acknowledging that Shabd Kun Pai was a valuable addition to the Kashmiri literature.

Special Guest on the occasion, Aseer Kistwari spoke about this book and the quality literary programmes being organised by Samprati.

Dr. R.L Shant, who presided over the gala function, traced his half a century long association with Kanwal, beginning in 1960’s, saying that his work attracted serious attention from the very start.

The two also spoke of the Sahitya Akademi award to Makhan Lal Kanwal for his last book Yath Aangu’nas Manz.
