JAMMU: Minister for Social Welfare, Bali Bhagat, on Tuesday conducted surprise visit to the office of District Programme Officer, ICDS, Jammu and ICDS Centre at Buta Nagar and took stock of their functioning.
During the inspection of ICDS Centre, Buta Nagar, the samples of various nutrition items including, Chana, Green Mungi, Nutri, Haldi powder, rice, biscuits, suji, edible oils and some medicines being provided to the children were lifted on the instructions of the minister.
While inspecting the office of District Programme Officer (DPO), the Minister checked the attendance register and other records pertaining the procurement, supply of nutrition and other items. He issued instructions to the DPO to streamline the functioning of office and ensure punctuality of staff in the office.
He also directed him to regularly monitor the functioning of the ICDS Centers under his jurisdiction to ensure enrolment of children and quality nutrition to them.
