JAMMU: Samir Kotwal (SSP) bagged the Table Tennis title in the competition organised for Gazetted Officers (GOs) in the ongoing Inter-Battalion Sports Meet of Jammu and Kashmir Armed Police (JKAP) at different venues, here on Tuesday.
In the final, Samir defeated Swaran Singh Kotwal (SSP) in straight sets of 21-09, 21-12.
The Badminton title went to Liyaqat Ali (SP), who beat Nasir Ahmed (SP) 2-1 (21-19, 16-21, 21-17) in the final played at Indoor Hall of DPL, here.
Earlier in second semifinal, Liyaqat Ali (SP) defeated Zahid Ahmad (DySP) 2-0 (21-16, 18-13).
In GOs shooting event of Pistol/Revolver, Rajnesh Parhan (SSP), Commandant JKAP 14th bagged first place while Randeep Singh (SSP), Commandant IRP 10th remained runner-up.
In Lawn Tennis, Sanjay Kotwal (SP) shall meet Nasir Ahmed (SP) in final tomorrow. Earlier in semifinal played today, Sanjay Kotwal (SP) beat Swaran Singh Jangi (DySP) by 2-0 (6-3, 6-4) and Nasir Ahmed (SP) defeated Liyaqat Ali (SP) by 2-0 (6-3,6-4).
