Salary of ReT, SSA teachers to be released soon: Priya Arrangements at Kheer Bhawani reviewed

JAMMU: Underlining the commitment of the government to address genuine issues of teaching fraternity, Minister of State for Education, Culture and Information, Priya Sethi on Sunday said that salaries of ReT and SSA teachers will be released shortly as the matter has been vigorously pursued at the highest level in the Union Human Resource Ministry.
The codal formalities put forth by the HRD Ministry have been complied fully and the grants are on the cards, said the minister.
She said once the requisition for the release of the grants is received the salary liabilities of teachers would be cleared.
She was addressing a deputation of Teachers Welfare Association, here on Sunday. The deputation of teachers was led by its President Jasmeet Singh Madaan.
Responding to the demands put forth by the association, Sethi assured that the seniority lists of headmasters, clerks and lecturers in various disciplines would be updated at the earliest.
She said the issue of BLO retention for election duties for the upcoming urban local body elections would be taken up at the appropriate forum and genuine demands would be addressed in a time bound manner.
President Clerical Association, district Jammu, Subash Jamwal also met the minister and urged for removal of pay anomalies and addressing other issues confronted to the cadre.
The minister gave a patient hearing to all the demands put forth by the deputations and assured early redressal of the genuine demands.
Meanwhile, Priya Sethi visited Kheer Bhawani Tulmulla and interacted with various groups of Kashmiri Pandits and other devotees who had arrived here to pay obeisance at the temple complex.
She was accompanied by MLC Surinder Amberdar.
After paying obeisance at the temple, the minister inspected the arrangements being made at the temple complex for the upcoming Kheer Bhawani Mela.
She urged the district administration to put in place all necessary arrangements for the devotees for smooth conduct of festival.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister said the government is keen to see dignified return of Kashmiri Pundits to their native land as Kashmir is incomplete without them.
She said “festivals give us opportunities to promote and strengthen the communal harmony and ethos which is the strength of our country”.
