POONCH: Sakandar Khan’s half century guided Star Club Skt Jnr to lift trophy of Chaar Sahibzaade T20 Cricket Tournament organized by Sikh Youth of Poonch on the theme “Khelo India” at Sports Stadium Poonch, here on Thursday.
In the final match, Star Club Skt Jnr trashed Glamorous Club by eight wickets.
Glamorous Club began their innings but faced a tough challenge against the opposition’s bowlers. Despite efforts from Deepak Sharma (23 runs off 27 balls) and Sachin (16 runs off 12 balls) they managed to put up a total of 101 runs losing all their wickets in 17.4 overs. Notable bowling performances from Adnan Fazali (2 wickets for 4 runs) and Imran Bracken (2 wickets for 11 runs) kept the pressure on Glamorous Club.
In response, Star Club Skt Jnr exhibited a splendid batting display reaching 106/2 in 15.1 overs. Sakandar Khan shone brightly with a remarkable innings of 51 runs off 43 balls steering his team towards victory. Kafeel Manhas also contributed significantly with 33 runs off 37 balls. Despite the efforts of Deepak Kumar (2 wickets for 29 runs) from Glamorous Club’s bowling side, Star Club managed to secure a well-deserved win.
Sakandar Khan rightfully claimed the Man of the Match award for his outstanding all-round performance, excelling as both the Best Batsman and the Man of the Series.
Imran Bracken was recognized as the Best Bowler for his remarkable bowling efforts throughout the tournament contributing significantly to his team’s success.
Sandesh Kumar Sharma, ADDC Poonch was the Chief Guest in the final and Shah Mohammad Tantray ( Ex MLA ) was the Guest of Honour.
Other dignitaries present were Narinder Singh (Pardhan DGPC), Onkar Singh (Pardhan Gurudwara Sant Bhai Rocha Singh Ji Purani Poonch), Harcharan Singh (General Secretary DGPC), Jatinder Singh (ZPEO), Narinder Singh (ZPEO), Zafar Shah, Satish Kumar (Vice President Sanatan Dharam Sabah) and Prem Parkash Luthra.
The Tournament was organised with a motive to channelise the energy of youth Poonch in a positive path.
Gurvinder Singh, Imran Shah, Amandeep Singh Milky, Inderpal Singh, Tajinder Singh, Navjot Singh Moosa, Abhinav Sharma, Mumtaz Khan, Amandeep Singh, Jaspreet Singh and Kulwinder Singh were also present.
