NAGROTA: In the ongoing North Zone Inter Sainik School Sports Meet 2015 at Sainik School Nagrota, the hosts won a nail-biting basketball match against Sainik School Kunjpura by 65-58. The match was evenly poised till the last quarter until Nagrotians held their nerve to take a marginal lead at the end.
On the other hand, in Volleyball, Sainik School Kunjpura managed a narrow win against the hosts who were feared as a potential threat to their dream of retaining the championship.
Although the hosts started off with a win in the first set, they lost subsequent sets by a whisker. The final scores were 25-23, 22-25, 21-25, 16-25.
In the previous session, Sainik School Ghorakhal defeated Sainik School Sujanpur Tira by 35-28 in Basketball while the Junior Football match between Sainik School Sujanpur Tira and Sainik School Kunjpura ended in a 2-2 draw.
In Hockey defenders Sainik School Kapurthala lost to Sainik School Kunjpura (0-1).
Sainik School Kunjpura emerged winners in the North Zone Inter Sainik School Quiz Competition 2015 which was organised at the school auditorium on 11th June, 2015. Sainik School Ghorakhal stood runners-up.
Col K.D Koushal, Principal lauded the participants for putting-up a close contest and gave away the medals and certificates to the winners.
