NAGROTA: Sainik School Nagrota scored a spectacular win over Sainik School Sujanpur Tira by 4-1 in Junior Football on the fourth day of the North Zone Inter Sainik School Sports Meet-2015, held at Sainik School Nagrota, here on Friday.
It was a delightful treat from young Nagrotians to S. Simranjeet Singh, Deputy Commissioner, Jammu who visited his almamater Sainik School Nagrota and witnessed football, volleyball and hockey matches that were held simultaneously in different playfields of the school.
The visiting dignitary was impressed by the progress and perceptible improvements made by the school in recent years and lauded the school administration for the same.
Col K.D Koushal, Principal presented a school souvenir to the Guest of Honour as a token of remembrance.
In their third league match in Basketball, Nagrotians defeated Sainik School Ghorakhal (69-53) and will play against Kapurthala in the final league match to decide the North Zone Basketball Championship-2015.
In Volleyball, the hosts scored a convincing 3-0 win over Sainik School Kapurthala and Ghorakhal and sealed the runners-up position. The North Zone Competitions will conclude in the morning session of 13th June 2015 and the closing ceremony will be held at Maj Somnath Sharma (PVC) Stadium in the evening at 5:00 PM.
