Sainik School Nagrota organises workshop for teachers

JAMMU: The third and last phase of orientation workshop for teachers of government schools under Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education was organised by Sainik School Nagrota, which concluded on Saturday at the school auditorium.
The objective of the workshop was to enhance teaching skills and update the knowledge and awareness of teachers working in schools under J and K Board.
In all, 53 teachers from Akhnoor, Chowki Choura, Jourian, Marh and Khour Zones participated in this workshop to enrich their profession competence.
Colonel Kapil Dev Koushal, Principal, Sainik School Nagrota, inaugurated the workshop on 15th January and delivered an lecture on ‘Challenges and Teaching Skills for 21st Century Educators’.
He impressed on the point that teachers must know their students, motivate them and keep in mind the socioeconomic background of their students.
Smita Sethi, Director School Education, Jammu and J.K Sudan, CEO, Jammu were also present during the workshop.
Further, the two-day workshop covered various topics including ‘Stress Management and How to be and Effective Teacher’ by Lt Col Deepak Singh Thakur, Vice Principal and ‘Basics of Human Behaviour’ and ‘Self Motivation for Teachers’ by Sqn Ldr Vipin Kumar Sharma, Administrative Officer of the School.
Besides, lecture on ‘Effective Communication Skills and Classroom Management’ was also delivered by the faculty of the school.
At the culmination of the workshop, Colonel Kapil Dev Koushal gave away certificates to all the participants and expressed hope that the teachers would endeavour to improve the teaching/learning process for the betterment of students across the State.
