NAGROTA: The first All India Sainik Schools National Games held at Sainik School Kunjpura, Haryana, from October 10, 2023, saw an incredible display of talent, teamwork, and sportsmanship as teams representing all eight groups of Sainik Schools, from across the country battled it out for the prestigious Volleyball Championship. In a thrilling and closely contested series of matches, Sainik School Nagrota emerged as the undisputed champions, capping off an exhilarating week of competition. Sainik School Nagrota beat Sainik School Rewa with 25-9, 25-15, Sainik School Kalikiri by 25-22, 25-12, Sainik School Jhunjhunu by 25-9, 25-23, Sainik School Goalpara by 25-12, 25-20. In the Championship showdown, Sainik School Nagrota demonstrated their exceptional skills and composure as they squared off against Sainik School Jhunjhunu in the final match. The resounding final scores of 25-6, 25-13 in Nagrota’s favor sealed their victory and crowned them as the Volleyball Champions of the All India Sainik Schools National Games. Cadet Ikhlaq Hassan from Sainik School Nagrota was awarded the title of the Best Player of the Tournament. Captain (Indian Navy) AK Desai, Principal extended his heartfelt congratulations to the victorious Sainik School Nagrota team. He applauded the team’s exemplary performance and thanked IC SS Jamwal, PTI Hav Arvind Sharma, and the coaching staff for their professional guidance and support throughout the tournament. A special Dinner Night was organized at the Cadets’ Mess of the School on 23 Oct 23 to felicitate the Champions. Cadet Yassir gave a pictorial presentation depicting the journey of the School team to the top of the tournament.
