Sahil’s 88 runs guide MGCA to advance in Rigour Cup

JAMMU: Mayank Goswami Cricket Academy (MGCA) on Saturday sailed into the next round after beating Sehwag Cricket Academy by a big margin of 109 runs in the ongoing Rigour Cup (50 overs) Cricket Tournament at Country Cricket Stadium, Gharota near here.
Batting first, after Sehwag Academy won the toss and opted to field, MGCA set a target of 251 runs in 49.2 overs. Mitesh Jamwal and Robin Singh stayed at the wicket for considerable long time playing about 15 overs among themselves and made a score of 34 and 15 respectively. Suryansh Raina, however, like Subrat Singh and Abhishek Dhar was out cheaply with their individual aggregates not even touching double figures.
It was Sahil Lotra, who played brilliant innings of 88 runs while Sahil Malhotra added 40. In the closing stages, Akhil Choudhary and Kunal Chib contributed 18 runs each.
Sehwag Academy used eight bowlers with belated success coming to Jaipal, Harman and Yudhmanyu who shared two wickets each. When put to bat, Sehwag Academy was bowled out for 141 runs in 29.3 overs. Yudhmanyu (seven) and Harman (0) struggled to prolong their stay at the wicket but were caught off the bowling of Vishal. Vishal got Munish and Arsh wicket quickly afterwards.
Manik, Karthik and Rohit had some success with the bat who added 30, 17 and 41 runs respectively . Sahil and Nityam of MGCA claimed two wickets each while Akhil and Nitesh shared apiece each.
Later, Sahil Lotra was declared Man of the Match for his 88 runs innings.
