Sagar inspects restoration work of Dastgeer Sahib (RA)
SRINAGAR: Minister for Rural Development and Panchayats, Ali Mohammad Sagar on Wednesday inspected the pace of leftover restoration work being carried on in the revered shrine of Dastgeer Sahib (RA) in the old city Srinagar.
He was accompanied by senior officers of JKPCC, R&B, Waqaf and district administration.
The minister asked the officers to speed up the pace of leftover work so that the shrine is completed in all respects. He said that the requisite funds have already been placed at the disposal of the executing agencies so that it is completed within the shortest possible time.
Sagar said that due care has been taken to maintain the old architectural patterns and designs of the revered shrine which is held in high esteem by cross section of people. He said that officers should work in close coordination and synergise their efforts to ensure that bottlenecks, if any, are removed and work fast paced.
Enroute, the minister also met several deputations who put forth their demands and the minister assured that their genuine demands will look into and redressed the same. He said that the government has already instructed the officers to fast pace the work of relief and rehabilitation so that the people get the necessary benefits.
“The Chief Minister is personally monitoring the work of relief and rehabilitation and has instructed the field agencies to ensure that every sort of help is provided to the flood affectees and a comprehensive relief proposal package has been sent to the centre”, the minister added and said that government will not leave any stone unturned till every flood affectee is properly and adequately rehabilitated.
