Sagar for speedy implementation of development schemes

SAGAR ASSEMBLY-26SRINAGAR: The Minister for Rural Development and Panchayats, Ali Mohammad Sagar on Tuesday asked the officers to speed up the pace of implementation of various schemes undertaken in different sectors like PHE, R&B, Housing, PDD so that the holistic development of Srinagar city is ensured and people get benefits from these.
The minister was interacting with the officers during his extensive tour of old city Srinagar to personally oversee the status of various developmental programmes undertaken.
He was accompanied by senior officers of various departments and district administration.
Sagar directed the officers to come up with the comprehensive plan for restoration of the Malkha area so that the necessary action can be initiated on it. He said we have to ensure that un-necessary encroachments do not take place there and the necessary mechanism is also put in place which acts as a deterrent to the same.
The minister also asked the UEED officers to come up with the detailed plan so that the drainage system of the city is properly augmented and people get benefitted.
The minister also directed the officers to remove the various bottle necks which have come up in the implementation of various road widening programmes and pay the necessary compensation to the people whose properties have been acquired as the result of these projects. He said that high level committee meetings should be held within the shortest possible time for the convenience of the general public.
He asked the officers of the Srinagar Municipal Corporation to ensure overall cleanliness of the city and also take the necessary measures to curb the dog menace as people are facing inconvenience in different areas.
