RAMBAN: Sadabahar Volleyball Club clinched the Ramban District Volleyball Championship trophy by defeating Kohitoor Volleyball Club by 2-1 sets (26-28,25-22 & 15-12). The district volleyball championship was organized by Volleyball Association of J&K at Government Higher Secondary School Ramban, here on Friday. The championship was sponsored by J&K Sports Council.
Earlier in semifinal matches played in the morning, Sadabahar Volleyball Club beat Pernote Volleyball Club by 2-1 sets (25-20, 22-25, 15-12) and Kohitoor Volleyball Club beat Lovely Volleyball Club by 2-0 sets (25-22, 25-23).
Kewal Krishan, Principal of the host school, was the Chief Guest and Firdos Ahmed, Zonal Physical Education Officer (ZPEO) was the Guest of Honour in the closing ceremony. They underlined the importance of sports in making the J&K youth healthy. They appreciated the efforts of the Volleyball Association of J&K office bearers especially Raj Daluja, Patron-in-Chief, Volleyball Association of J&K and President Sidharth Daluja for spreading volleyball game in every corner of the J&K Union territory.
The trophies and individual prizes were given away to winner and runner-up teams by the Chief Guest in presence of Kuldeep Magotra Chief Executive Officer, R.C Sharma Treasurer, Mohd Tariq Joint Secretary and Akber Ali Office Secretary of Volleyball Association of J&K and other dignitaries.
