Rs 98 crore released for upgradation of Batote-Kishtwar Highway

KISHTWAR: Minister of State for Transport, Public Works (R and B), Revenue, RDD and Panchayati Raj, Agricultural Production and YSS Sunil Kumar Sharma on Thursday said that the State and Central Governments are working with a motive to create employment avenues through developmental initiatives. The minister was addressing a huge rally at Kishtwar in presence of MLC Ajatashatru Singh and Vice Chairman (VC) JAKFED Munish Sharma.
Highlighting various schemes and developmental projects being taken up in the state, he said dreams of people are turning into reality as focus is being laid on inclusive development.
“In Kishtwar, special attention is being paid to provide better road connectivity to the remotest areas like Padder, Dachhan , Marwah or Warwan and extend telecom facilities to these areas” he said adding mobile phone connectivity has been extended to Holy Shrine of Machail Mata for the convenience of pilgrims who visit the Shrine in large numbers every year. He informed that with the start of work on Hydro-electric Project proposed for the district a large number of local youth would get employment.
Adding further, the minister said that government is spending Rs 300 crore on the multipurpose Naigad project which will overcome the dearth of drinking water and fulfil the long pending demand of the area. He also informed that Rs 98 crore has been provided for upgradation and maintenance of Batote Kishtwar National Highway and the work has already been started by NHIDCL.
MLC Ajatashatru and VC Munish Sharma also elaborated upon the schemes of Central and State Government and urged people to take maximum benefit out of these.
