KATHUA: Police on Sunday arrested three persons and recovered over Rs 5 lakh and drugs from their possession.
As per details, Police Station Lakhanpur led by Station House Officer, Ritesh Sambyal laid a Naka at Lakhanpur on the directions of SSP Kathua, Pawan Parihar, and during the course of checking of vehicles, old currency amounting to Rs. 1,24,500 was recovered from a vehicle and Rs. 3,66,600 from the possession of three persons, who were travelling in i-20 car, bearing number DL2C-AE 4783 from Delhi  to Srinagar. The police also recovered 60 bottles of corex and 200 capsules of Proxivon from their possession.
The arrested persons were identified as Mohammed Ajeem, son of Manzur Ahmed, resident of Baba Damb, Srinagar, Abid Malik, son of Firdoz Ahmed resident of Hazratbal, Srinagar and Amir Azaz, son of Azabo Din, resident of Sardar Bal Hazratbal Srinagar.
A case vide FIR No 110/2016 under Sections 8, 21 and 22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Lakhanpur.
