Rs. 44 cr realised as power tariff up to Dec 2014

ANANTNAG: Un-Interrupted power supply will be ensured in the district for which steps have been taken at all levels. This was stated by District Development Commissioner, Anantnag while chairing a meeting of officers of PDD, I&FC and other concerned departments.
District Development Commissioner was apprised by superintending Engineer PDD that every possible step will be taken to ensure the Un-Interrupted power supply throughout the district. Special teams have been constituted for surprise checking so as to prevent pilferage of electricity. The faulty transformers are being repaired on first cum first serve basis. It was also given out that an amount of Rs. 44 crore has been realized as electric tariff in two divisions of Anantnag district till December 2014, besides an amount of Rs. 25.75 lakh received from SDRF has been utilized for repair and replacement of faulty transformers.
District Development Commissioner was apprised that 4,500 trees have been felled all around the district on the banks of different Nallahs, 16 structures were also demolished on the banks of Martand Cannal, Dadi Canal and Brengi Canal by irrigation deportment.
Moreover flood control divisions Anantnag have also felled 9,531 trees along different water bodies and Nallahs in the district till date.
