SRINAGAR: The Enforcement squad headed by Assistant Director, Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Kashmir conducted market inspections in the Srinagar city and booked erring traders for violating Essential Commodities Act, 1955. The markets of Sonwar, Zainakote, HMT, Qamarwari, Batmaloo, Jawahar Nagar, Hazuri Bagh, Sanat Nagar, Naz Crossing, Mahraj Bazar, Bagat Barzulla, Rangreth, Karan Nagar, Darish Kdal, Saidpora, Zonimar, Ellahi Bagh, Malla Bagh, Brain, Dalgate etc. were inspected during the process.

During the inspection, 293 business establishments were inspected and Rs. 31,250 were recovered as fine from 50 erring shopkeepers for violation of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955.
