Rs. 30,600 realised as fine from erring traders in Srinagar

SRINAGAR: The enforcement squad headed by Assistant Director, Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Kashmir conducted market inspections in the Srinagar city and booked erring traders for violating Essential Commodities Act, 1955.
The markets of Soura, Buchpora, Habak, Hazratbal, Lal Bazar, Eidgah, Safa Kadal, Nawab Bazar, Fateh Kadal, Ram Bagh, Regal Chowk, Kak Saria, Habba Kadal, Bohri Kadal, Khanyar, Khayam, Rainawari, Bagh-i-Ali Mardan Khan etc. were inspected during the process.
During the inspection, 274 business establishments were inspected and Rs. 30,600 recovered as fine from 51 erring shopkeepers for violation of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955.
