Nowshera : With an aim to educate and spread awareness about women empowerment schemes in UT of Jammu and Kashmir, Kalal Rashtriya Rifles organised a lecture to highlight all women empowerment related schemes and also invited the local women achievers to share their success stories. The speaker conveyed the idea that empowerment of women is imperative for a better tomorrow and that when we empower women, we empower the future of the society. Various initiatives of the Govt like ‘Mahila-E-Haat’ , ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padao’, ‘One Stop Centre Scheme’, ‘Working Women’s Hostel’ were highlighted. ‘The Support of Training and Empowerment Programme for women (STEP)’, ‘Nari Shakti Puraskar’, were explained to the attendees. The audience were immensely motivated by the women speakers and appreciated the initiatives by the the Army. A total of 32 women attended the said lecture.
