JAMMU: Range Police Headquarters Jammu (RPHQ) organised a volleyball tournament in tehsil R S Pura, in which eight teams participated.
The tournament was conducted under Civic Action Programme 2023-2024 in Bana Singh Stadium R S Pura of District Jammu under the aegis of Shakti Kumar Pathak, DIG JSK Range and overall supervision of Staff Officer to DIG Jammu Rajinder Singh Katoch, SSP.
The tournament started with the welcome of the Chief Guest Shakti Kumar Pathak. A total of seven matches were played in the tournament.
Results league matches: Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Dablehar beat GHSS Rangpur; MHDAV Public School RS Pura beat GHSS Badyal Brahmna; Government Model Boys Higher Secondary School RS Pura beat Team Chuni Lal Memorial Higher Secondary School Chakroi; GHSS Chandu Chak beat GHSS Sai Kalan.
Semi-finals: Govt. Model Boys Higher Secondary School RS Pura beat GHSS Dablehar; GHSS Chandu Chak beat MHDAV Public School RS Pura.
Final: GHSS Chandu Chak registered win by beating Govt. Model Boys Higher Secondary School RS Pura.
While addressing media, DIG JKS Range shared that the main motive of the Jammu and Kashmir Police in organizing such sport tournaments is to encourage the youth to stay away from drugs, negative influence, bad company and to maintain a cohesion between police and youth, so that the youth’s energy is channelized in a better way.
Several prominent persons, including SDM RS Pura Seema Parihar, Principal Govt. Degree College RS Pura Dr. Rajni Bhagat, Ex Municipal Chairman RS Pura, Satpal Pappi, Principal Govt. Boys Hr. Sec School RS Pura Suman Lata, Mahant Rajesh Bittu, ZPEO RS Pura Umesh Kumar Sharma, President Bazar Asocciation RS Pura Sachin Chopra, Ward member Labba Ram, Teachers and Students of Government Higher Secondary School RS Pura and general public from different places were also present to boost the morale of the players.
Shakti Kumar Pathak, Rajinder Singh Katoch, SP Hqrs. Jammu Ramnish Gupta, DySP Raman Kumar ADO RPHQ Jammu, DySP RPHQ, Jatinder Singh Sambyal, distributed cash prize, trophies, volleyball to winner and runner-up teams and certificates to all the participants.
Nikhil Gogna, SDPO RS Pura, SHO RS Pura Naveen Angral, ICPP Badyal Brahmna Sandeep K Raju, ICPP Chakroi Ishfaq Choudhary and the team of CAP members from RPHQ, Jammu Sub Insp. Suresh Kumar, ASI Tarsem Lal, ASI Jasvir Singh, ASI Deepak Sharma, Sgct Sudesh Sharma, Sgct Parshotam Choudhary, Sgct Arun Kumar, Surjit Singh and Vishal Verma were also present.
