Militant attack on police post STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: Ever since Indian army conducted surgical strikes inside Pakistan Occupied Kashmir on September 29 the security situation in the State remains volatile.
High alerts were sounded on many occasions and security bandobast was beefed up to prevent any militant strike.
Yet on Tuesday when heavily armed fidayeen group managed to storm tightly guarded army unit on the periphery of Nagrota based 16 Corps headquarters several question marks were raised as to how the terror strike was executed so flawlessly by breaching the multi players of three tier security ring.
Recovery of waste food material also indicated that the fidayeen group had taken refugee inside the camp last night. However, the army is conducting investigations to ascertain the facts.
Reports claimed the fidayeen group may have been lying low in the area and the militant handlers may have activated the sleeper cell to guide them to the location of the terror strike to make maximum impact and inflict maximum injuries.
Now the question arises whether the three member group was already present in the area and if yes how they managed to carve out a hideout in the army area without catching attention of security forces roaming in the area.
It is not clear whether they walked on foot and camouflaged their identity behind police uniforms to come closer to the army unit on Tuesday morning.
Another important question is if they were travelling in a private vehicle who ferried them to the location?
Interestingly, the written statement issued by the army authorities remained silent on this issue.
The possibility of some one dropping them near the  gate and fleeing also cannot be ruled out.
The army authorities have not confirmed whether they have seized any vehicle along with its driver and has handed over him to the police for necessary follow up action and interrogation.
Defence experts are wondering as to where from the fidayeens succeeded in procuring combat dresses as sale of these stand banned across Jammu and Kashmir
