STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: JKPCC has accused the State Government of failing in its primary duty of providing ration to the common man on reasonable rates besides strongly criticising the move to stop provision of wheat/Atta in the PDS.
Lambasting the Coalition Government for failing in discharge of the primary function of providing ration to the poor common man, who are mainly dependent on the PDS, JKPCC Chief Spokesman, Ravinder Sharma said that since this government has taken over, it has derailed PDS and created a mess besides unprecedented hike in prices, which has made the ration beyond the reach of common people. The people are crying hoarse over the government’s failures but the government continues to make tall claims in media and thumping its chest, making fun for poor people.
“The price hike of Rs.5 per Kg on Atta and rice besides reduction of scale of sugar from 700 grams to 500 grams in PDS supply has already given severe blow to the people, while the government moves to stop supply of wheat/Atta totally from this month. These measures of the State Government are totally anti-people and reflected the total failure of this government. He said that the tall claims of this government on food security and streamlining of system have fallen flat and people are deprived of their basic rights of ration at reasonable price.
Already the common man is worst hit due to unprecedented hike of all essential commodities since Modi Government took over, as prices of all items have increased several times, the State Government has added to the woes of the common people. The party demanded an immediate response of the government to roll back the prices of Atta, rice and ensure flow of wheat/ Atta and sugar as per scale.
