JAMMU: A police-public meeting was held here at Kotli Colony Janj Ghar Rehari Colony under aegis of Bakshi Nagar Police Station and Sarwal Police Post.
Sunil Dimple President Jammu West Assembly Movement and large number of the prominent citizens, leaders of Congress, BJP, NC and PDP, civil society members and the heads of various Mohalla Committees residents of New Plot, Sarwal, Rehari Colony, Subhash Nagar, Patoli and Toph Sherkhanian took part in the meet.
Sughanda Mahajan SDPO West, Ashwani Kumar SHO Bakshi Nagar and Kali Charan (S.I) Incharge Police Post Sarwal represented the police.
Sunil Dimple said the police role is vital in bridging the gap between the Government and public for the redressal of the grievances. He urged officers to take stringent measures for curbing menace of drugs, eve teasing, robbery, wrong parking, etc. He urged Governor and DGP to depute more police constabulary staff, with modernized weapons on the police posts and police stations besides flying squad vehicles for effective policing.
Police assured full cooperation in mitigating the problems and also discussed to prevent the drug menace and thefts.
