POONCH: To discuss the roadmap for digitisation of cable television network in the district, Deputy Commissioner, Poonch, M.H Malik convened a meeting of local cable operators on Wednesday.
In a detailed discussion, the Deputy Commissioner briefed the cable operators about the directions of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and J and K Government regarding the transformation of existing cable service from analogue to Digital Addressable System (DAS) for which the revised deadline is fixed as 31st December, 2015. He asked them prepare a detail plan for switching over to digital mode in their respective areas in a time bound manner.
Assuring them of all necessary help for smooth digitisation of cable service he asked them to generate awareness among their subscribers about the benefits of the digital addressable system and also furnish the detail about the number of subscribers digitised so far.
Tehsildar Haveli, Auqil Nuvaid, Tehsildar Mendhar, Mohammad Rafiq Mughal, Tehsildar Surankote, Abid Hussain, District Information Officer besides representatives of local cable operators attended the meeting.
