Road connectivity Govt’s priority: Tantray

POONCH: Member Legislative Assembly Haveli Poonch Shah Mohammad Tantray said that government has vision to provide better road connectivity in the far off areas of State under different schemes to explore the huge economic potential in unlocked rural areas.
The MLA was addressing locals after laying foundation stone of 2 kilomteres long road from Makki Post to Gurdwara Daire Sahib here at Karmada village. The road is being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 3.28 lakh under State sector.
The upcoming road network will connect hundreds of souls of the twin villages thereby fulfilling long pending demand of the locals. Earlier, a large number of locals, welcomed the MLA in their areas and thanked the government for fulfilling their long pending demand.
The locals also apprised the MLA about various others development issues including, extension of PHE pipelines, augmentation of power transformer, construction of bridge over local Nallah. The MLA acceded the demands and assured that the funds would be provided out of his CDF.
Speaking on the occasion, Tantray said besides providing basic facilities, the present is working on comprehensive prospective plan to develop road infrastructure to connect rural pockets with urban centres to boost economic growth.
He said better road connectivity is correlated with overall economic development of the region as it promotes access to economic and social development. He enjoined upon officers to work with utmost dedication and in coordinated manner & act as bridge between government and people in implementing various welfare programmes.
