JAMMU: Radio Kashmir Jammu (RKJ) in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art Culture and Languages (JKAACL) organised Sangeet Sandhya-a music concert to commemorate 70th Independence Day at Abhinav Theatre, here on Saturday.
Established artists of the region and artists from Punjab enthralled the jam packed auditorium.
The event started with the traditional lighting of the lamp by Station Head Radio Kashmir Jammu, Deputy Director General (Engineering) K.K Singh, Programme Head S.K Malhotra and Additional Secretary JKACCL Arvinder Amn, Vice Chancellor University of Jammu, Prof. R.D Sharma and Director Urban Local Bodies, Saujanya Sharma.
The artists who performed on the occasion include Dharmesh Nargotra, Ravi Bhan, Vishal Gupta, Sonali dogra, Bunty Malhotra, Nidhi Kaila, Ajay, Harbans Singh, Karuna Kalotra and Vandana.
Suman Bhatti, Punjabi Folk Artist from AIR Jallandhar, added special attraction to the programme.
The event was attended in large numbers by people from all walks of life including former Station Director RKJ, V.K Sambyal, former Secretary JKAACL, Rita Jitendra and Maj. Gen Govardhan Singh Jamwal (Rtd.).
Madhvi Sharma, Senior Announcer of RKJ conducted the proceedings of the event while music was coordinated by Pex Music Manoj Bakshi and Composer Harish Kaila.
