RKJ, JKAACL felicitate Ved Rahi in Jharokha

JAMMU: In a series of programmes Jharokha-14 jointly organized by Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages and Radio Kashmir, Jammu, Ved Rahi, renowned Dogri writer, Director and Eminent scholar was felicitated and an interaction was also arranged on the occasion today at KL Saigal Hall.
Prof. Lalit Magotra, Convenor Dogri, Sahitya Akademi, Delhi was the Chief Guest, N.D Jamwal, Dogri writer, presided and Mohan Singh, Dogri writer was the Guest of Honour. V.K Sambyal, Station Director, RKJ, Dr. Aziz Hajini, Secretary and Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary, JKAACL were also present.
Born on 22nd May, 1993 in Jammu, Ved Rahi, presently, is an author of more than 15 books including novels, short-stories, essay writing and criticism. His father Mulkh Raj Saraf was a prominent journalist of his time.
While delivering his presidential address, Prof. Lalit Magotra appreciated the contribution of Ved Rahi for the promotion of Dogri language, culture and literature. He said that Ved Rahi succeeded in bridging the Dogri language of the State and the literature of National and International scenario.
While appreciating the fiction written by Ved Rahi in Dogri, N.D Jamwal said that the short-stories and novels penned by Rahi were largely read and received appreciation all over the country and particularly in J and K State.
Earlier, welcoming the distinguished guests, Dr. Aziz Hajini highlighted the future activities of the Academy and also complimented Ved Rahi for his contribution and for being felicitated in the said programme.
Prof. Veena Gupta, former HoD, PG Department of Dogri, University of Jammu, presented a research paper on life and contribution of Ved Rahi in Dogri language and literature.
Ved Rahi, while sharing his experiences and creative process informed about his experiences and creative process, informed about his journey and experiences.
Vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Amn and proceedings of the programme were conducted by Anjana Badyal, PAX, RKJ.
Ashok Gupta, Editor Dogri,JKAACL read out the citation.
Among others were present included Prof Shashi Pathania, Prof Rita Jatindra, Chhatterpal, Brijmohan, Dr Adarsh, Ravinder Kaul, Surinder Goel, Shiv Dev Singh Susheel, Shushank Choudhary, Santosh Sangra, Dr Lalit Gupta, Narinder Singh, Baljit Raina, Hardeep Singh Deep, Sudesh Raj, K.K Shakir, Dr Kamal Sharma and Prof Archana Kesar.
