SRINAGAR: The total requirement on account of salaries of teachers/ ReTs under SSA is Rs. 1146.94 crore for the current year. The Central Government has released an amount of Rs. 216.07 crore and once the Central Government releases the balance amount the salaries of the ReTs would be drawn.
This information was given by Minister for Health and Medical Education Taj Mohi-ud-Din, on behalf of Minister for Education, while replying to a Calling Attention Notice of Ajaz Ahmad Jan in the Legislative Assembly on Thursday.
The minister said teachers/ ReTs have been engaged under SSA a Centrally Sponsored Schemes and the fund pattern for the schemes is 65 per cent as Central Share and 35 per cent as State Share.
Referring to conversion of 13 Education Volunteers (EVs) as Teacher/ ReTs under the scheme, the Minister informed that these cases are under examination and the same would be cleared after verification of their relevant certificates/ antecedents which is pre-requisite for their conversion.
