Retrieve encroached state land in Pir Khoo: MDF

JAMMU: Muslim Development Front (J&K) criticized district administration for not showing its serious concern over the alleged encroachment on hundreds of Kanals of State land by land mafia in the Pir Kho area of Jammu City.
Speaking to media persons here, President MDF, Syed Shabir Ahmed Shah said that the complaint in this regard has already been made to the District Administration, Jammu and the Revenue Minister but nothing has been done in this regard.
Shah mentioned that a deputation of civil society members comprising legal fraternity, lawyers, prominent citizens and workers association of all communities approached the Revenue Minister Basharat Bukhari and Commissioner Secretary, Mohammad Afzal and apprised them about the encroachment of State Government land by a land grabber in Pir Kho area.
“The Revenue Minister issued directions to DC Jammu for retrieving of the said encroached land which the land grabber is continuously selling in piece wise manner and more than hundred Kanals land has been sold by him already. The revenue officials and their field staff has made spot verification and took stock of the situation but having hand in glove with the revenue officials neither any action has been taken against the said land grabber nor the encroached land was restored. The JMC officials including its Khilafwarzi officials are also hand in gloves with the said land grabber and illegal constructions/ structures are being allowed by greasing the plams of concerned JMC officials,” he alleged.
Shah appealed to the Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti and Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh to issue directions to the district administration for retrieving the government land and lodge FIR against land grabber. Others who were present in the press conference include Nawab Din Malik MDF Advisor, Rashid Paul Secretary, Shah Din Mughal, Advocate Om Raj Gorka, Ex Principal Secretary J&K High Court Din Mohammad Subunia, Senior Vice President, Mohammad Amin But General Secretary, Bashir Ahmed, Sunny Youth Leader, Amir Malik and Syed Pir Yousuf Shah.
