JAMMU: All J and K Retired Police NGO and ORs Personal Forum decided to stage a protest rally on 5th March from Press Club to office of Divisional Commissioner against the State Government for not fulfillment of their demands.
Talking to reporters here today, President of the Forum, Ajit Singh lamented that no relief has been provided to the retired police personnel, who were fighting this case since 1996. He said that the Government Order number 229-F of 2014 was in violation of the High Court order, contempt SWP number 277/2009.The government has played a cruel joke with retired policemen, he said and added that they will not tolerate this.
They demanded enhancement of Medical Allowance from Rs. 300 to Rs. 1,000, free of cost medicines and treatment should be provided to the retired police personnel from the Police Hospitals, reimbursement of medical bills be provided to the police retirees and 15 per cent quota should be reserved for the wards of police personnel in recruitment of Police Department and professional courses.
They also demanded compensation for Mohammad Ramzan Bhat (Retd ASI NGO No. 8273), who was engaged in an encounter at Pakharpora, Budgam on 5th March, 2006 and deprived of ex-gratia help till date.
