RAJOURI : ReT teachers of Thannamandi Zone who resorted to pen down strike on Monday in support of their demands, have threatened the department to launch a lock-out in all middle and primary schools if the government does not accede to their demands within a week’s time.
The State Secretary Jammu and Kashmir Rehbar-e-Taleem Teachers Forum Jehangir Khan said that the teachers who have completed five years of service, have not been regularised nor their pending salaries have been paid. He said that in response to 36 hours long hunger strike at Srinagar, it was assured that their demands will be acceded to soon but no action has been taken in this direction.
He appealed to the government to initiate the regularisation process of all those ReT teachers who have completed their five years service and also release their pending salary without any delay.
Meanwhile a deputation of ReT teachers serving under SSA Scheme met the SDM Nowshera Harbans Lal Sharma and handed over a memorandum of demands in which the teachers have demanded payment of their pending salary for the last nine months.
The SDM appreciating the demand of ReT teachers assured that their memorandum will be sent to the higher authorities for further action.
