JAMMU: All J and K ReT Teachers’ Forum sought regularization and clearance of pending salaries of teachers working under SSA and RMSA.
A monthly meeting of All J and K ReT Teachers Forum was held under the chairmanship of State President, Vinod Sharma here on Sunday which was attended by Executive Members of the Forum.
Sharma lambasted the State Education Department which has failed to release the salary of thousands of SSA teachers for the last six months forcing the families of these teachers to live in miserable condition. Their families are on verge of starvation and these teachers have been put in frustration, he added.
“Though Education Minister had assured two years back that he will streamline the SSA salary within six months but the ground reality after two years is that SSA teachers are on verge of starvation and there is no word from Education Minister as to when he’s going to streamline SSA salary and relieving these teachers from this chronic problem,” he said.
He appealed to the Chief Minister and Finance Minister to intervene in this matter and provisions be made to release the salaries of SSA teachers. He also demanded that SSA posts be brought under State Plan so that this chronic problem of SSA salary be resolved forever.
The forum members also appealed to the Director School Education Jammu to issue the regularisation list of ReTs whose files are gathering dust in the directorate for many months.
Meanwhile, the Executive Body of the Forum unanimously threatened to Gherao the State Assembly if their salaries are not released immediately.
Others who also spoke on the occasion include Rajesh Jamwal, Sukhdev Singh Sumbria, Lekh Raj Parihar, Ravinder Singh, Surjit Singh, Subash Chander, Navjot Singh and Ravinder Chib.
