UDHAMPUR: DM Udhampur ,Niraj Kumar today imposed restrictions on the use of para gliders, parachutes, air balloons etc. under section 144 of Cr. PC. after receiving inputs from Air Force HQ which reveals that terrorist groups are planning the use of para gliders and other such sub conventional methods to launch an offensive on the air force assets, police and defence installation.
Following this, restrictions have been imposed on private air borne activities like para jumping, para gliding, hoisting of air-balloons etc. within a radius of 1 km from any defence or security installation in the district. In case any such activity is to be conducted prior permission of the District Magistrate shall be required, reads the order passed by the DM in this regard.
In addition to this, the DM has directed all the private agencies involved in such businesses to disclose the details along with the details of their equipments to the Additional Deputy Commissioner Udhampur within sixty days of the issuance of the order.
As ordered by the DM, anyone who is willing to start such business or activity and any private /government agency subletting any such equipment/item shall seek prior permission of the DM .
All the SDMs, Tehsildars and SHOs in the District have been ordered to ensure the compliance of the order and in case of violation of the order penal action under section 188 of RPC will be be taken against the violators.
The order shall remain in force for a period of two months unless rescinded earlier.
