Restoration, rehabilitation initiatives already taken: Peerzada

SRINAGAR: Minister for Haj, Auqaf and Public Enterprises Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed on Sunday conducted a tour of Kokernag Constituency of Anantnag District and took stock of post-flood situation and damage to infrastructure and public and private property.
Interacting with the locals, the minister said that the government has been taking every possible initiative for restoration of essential services for the convenience of the people. He said the District Administration has already been geared up for distribution of relief material for providing immediate succour to the affected population and instructed for submitting a comprehensive proposal for their permanent rehabilitation.
Referring to recent meeting of State Group of Ministers with the Prime Minister, Peerzada said that the State Government had approached the Centre for support and financial assistance.
Earlier, the minister chaired a meeting of officers of District Administration and got first hand appraisal of the steps taken for restoration of essential services and rehabilitation of affectees in the area.
Among others, Deputy Commissioner, Anantnag Tasaduq Jeelani, besides other district and sectoral officers attended the meeting.
