STATE TIMES NEWS
BHADARWAH: Ration Card holders of Gandoh A and Gandoh B Panchayats in Tehsil Chilli Pinjir of Bhalessa area in Distt-Doda raised voice against local administration, Distt-administration and poltical leaders for not providing them free ration for the last three months.
It is pertinent to mention here that the then Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on 17th of Sept last year declared that 50 Kgs of ration will be supplied to flood hit people free of cost for six months but
the Govt promise has proved to be a hoax for the poor villagers of this remote and far off area of Distt-Doda as the residents of these two
Panchayats have alleged that free ration has not reached them despite approaching Distt administration, CAPD officials, Dy CM and CAPD Minister and even Deputy Chief Minister during their visit to Gandoh on 14th March, 2015.
Zahoor-ud-Din of Gandoh Bani said that they have lost 90 per cent of their yeild and all the maize fields got damaged due to massive soil erosion in the floods last year due to which they have become totally dependent on the government ration which has not been received by them for the last three months. They said that over 2,000 card holders have been reduced to the level of starvation.
They appealed to the government to take care of the residents of far flung area on war footings.
