Repeated lies will lead Omar nowhere: BJP
STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: Reacting to the statement of Omar Abdullah that where were PDP and BJP at the time of flood in J and K, BJP State Spokesperson and State Election Media Incharge Arun Kumar Gupta on Tuesday said that PDP was enjoying holidays with Omar Abdullah and BJP was in Kashmir to observe the grim situation on the very next day of flood.
“BJP’s workers were there on ground in Kashmir helping the flood victims and taking them out of the disastrous situation adding that they were also helping in restoration and rehabilitation works with army and other NGOs,” he said in a statement issued, here on Tuesday.
The entire country witnessed the fact that the government machinery was missing from the scene during the crucial first six days of the tragedy, he said adding that the Chief Minister himself was visible only in the media but not on the ground. “Chief Minister also admitted publically that his government was dysfunctional for first 36 hours,” Gupta reminded.
PDP and Omar Abdullah were holidaying somewhere leaving behind the people of Kashmir in those horrible conditions, he said adding that Omar was resting in a Guest House with his near and dear ones while BJP was working on the ground.
He recalled the statement of senior Congress leader that the money sent from centre does not reach to the people and said that similar is the case with these Rs 1,700 crore that did not reach the poor and needy people of Kashmir. People are angry with the slow process of rehabilitation and they are not in a mood to forgive NC for ditching them at the time when they were needed the most, he said.
He advised Omar to look into the deficiency of the system rather than politicising the issue.
