REASI: Financial relief of Rs two crore has been provided to 419 families in Reasi District who were rendered homeless in last year’s devastating floods, an official said here on Monday.
“Relief of Rs two crore has been provided to 419 families who were rendered homeless in September 2014 floods in Jammu and Kashmir,” District Development Commissioner (Reasi) Shabir Ahmad Bhatt said.
He said an amount of Rs 24.06 lakh has been transferred so far into the account of flood victims in the district as rental charges.
“On Sunday, we handed over 18 temporary shelters to the flood-affected families in Seri and Mansoo villages,” Bhatt said.
Constructed by the Road and Building department, each shed costs Rs 3.50 lakh, the official said.
