JAMMU: A letter written to Chief Justice regarding by Deepika Singh Rajawat a practicing lawyer seeking compensations for the victims of mine blasts of Poonch LoC, treated as Public Interest Litigation, a Division Bench of High Court comprising Justice Virender Singh and Justice Tashi Rabstan after hearing applicant in person whereas AAG H.A Siddiqui and Ravinder Sharma appearing for the state and ASGI K.K Pangotra appearing for the Union of India, observed that since a detailed reply/objections have already been filed by Deputy Commissioner, Poonch on 11th August, 2014 as is stated in the instant application, Deputy Commissioner, Poonch need not cause his appearance.

Division Bench further observed that petitioner Deepika Singh Rajawat appearing in person states that copy of the objections has now been provided to her and she wants to file response to it. Two weeks’ time is granted for the same. Division Bench also directed rest of the state and union of India respondents to file response in this PIL. JNF
