JAMMU: President EJAC and Chairman Teachers Forum Abdul Qayoom Wani urged the Chief Secretary to take immediate steps for early release of salaries of teachers, masters and head masters who have been suffering for the last six months.
In this regard, a meeting of Teachers Forum was held under its Chairman Abdul Qayoom Wani to discuss the problems being faced by them and continued denial of salaries to the teachers/masters/ head masters working under SSA and RMSA.
Speaking in the meeting, Wani criticised the HRD Ministry for giving step-motherly treatment to the teaching community of Jammu and Kashmir by releasing Rs 379.06 crore only out of Rs 1,200 crore as approved in AWP&B 2014-15.
Wani informed that the forum has decided to postpone its demonstration to be held on 10th January at Jantar Mantar New Delhi keeping in view the political uncertainty and security high alert in New Delhi on the eve of Republic Day. The next date for protest at Jantar Mantar New Delhi is 30th January 2015.
