‘Regularise services of contractual lecturers’

JAMMU: All J and K Contractual Lecturers (10+2) Association urged State Government to consider their long pending demand of regularising their services.

Speaking at the meeting here on Sunday, Association President, Arun Bakshi said that government has already passed a Civil Services Special Provisions Act 2010 for the regularisation of adhoc/contractual /consolidated employees who have completed seven years of service but the case of 10+2 contractual lecturers has not been considered till date. Neither 10+2 contractual lecturers are regularised nor their salaries enhanced, he stated.

Bakshi said that government has announced a new recruitment policy according to which all the contractual employees will be regularised after seven years of continuous service. He asked that what will be the fate of 10+2 contractual lecturers who have already been working since 1998.

Bakshi appealed to the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, Education Minister, Finance Minister and MoS Education to intervene in the matter and solve the problems of 10+2 contractual lecturers like regularisation of their services, enhancement of their salaries, continuation of services at their respective place of posting and non replacement of contractual lecturers by permanent lecturers till their case for regularisation is settled.

Others who spoke in the meeting include Asif Bhat Vice President, Rakesh Khajuria, Sanjay Kumar Surinder Kumar, Anil Kumar, Ravinder Kumar, Vikas Gupta, Pawan Gupta, Narinder Sharma, Pawan, Zaheer, Jagbir Singh, Kanchan, Anju, Seema, Rajni and Kiran.
