Regrouping Separatists
Fog is gradually lifting up from the Pakistani designs that led to their insistence of conferring with the anti-nationals of Kashmiri separatist movement, even after the Pakistan envoy was told about India’s stand for Pakistan to ‘either deal with Indian Government or the separatists’. Pakistan reverted to the earlier practice of meeting anti-India elements that saw a thaw after the Modi-Nawaz last interaction at New Delhi. It could neither be by chance nor by error or just “a cup of tea”.
Reports from Pakistan suggest that the Pakistan Army that enjoys better say in that country and ‘directs’ foreign policy was not in favour of Nawaz Sharif accepting Modi’s invitation and attending the oath taking ceremony at New Delhi. The Imran Khan- Qadri rallies with support of Pakistan Army, followed by their Army Chief Sharif suggesting his country’s Prime Minister to succumb to unlawful pressure and ‘temporarily’ step down and Nawaz Shrif’s refusal to oblige, tells their internal tale.
In India Shabir Shah soon after the meeting exhorted his faction of Hurriyat cadres “to get ready for greater sacrifices”. ISIS flags were seen in parts of Kashmir for the first time. Pakistan resumed orchestrating ‘Kashmir issue’ calling it as “never part of India” the emergence of a video featuring Ayman al- Zawari, leader of al-Qaida after Bin Laden announcing the al-Qaida’s Indian branch, is also closely behind.
Hurriyat Conference has three factions. Hurriyat, led by Sayeed Ali Shah Geelani, Hurriyat, led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Hurriyat, led by Shabir Shah, Azam Inquilabi and Nayeem Khan. These constitute of 27 small parties. JKLF is not part of these factions. As follow up of meeting Pakistani envoy Abdul Basit, a meeting between the two committees of Hurriyat Conference (G) and Hurriyat Conference Jammu and Kashmir (HCJK) discussed modalities of unity among pro freedom groups in Kashmir. Both sides tried to discuss a ‘common minimum programme’. So called moderates and mainstreamers when in opposition are no different.
The busy State Government is not likely to read and react to these events as part of a vicious design. Will the Central Government trying a game changer role in Jammu and Kashmir take cognisance and react to organised treason?
