Redressal of people’s grievances on top priority: Dy CM

KATHUA: “It is the endeavour of the government to provide all basic facilities to the people on priority basis”, Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Nirmal Singh said this in a public grievances and redressal camp at Mahanpur in district Kathua on Sunday.
Dr. Nirmal Singh said that early redressal of grievances and problems tops the priority list of the present government which is committed to ensure speedy redressal of grievances at door step of people.
During the public meeting people projected various demands and problems of their respective areas seeking an early redressal of the same.
The issues which were brought to the notice of the Deputy Chief Minister pertained to improvement in the drinking water, roads connectivity, electricity and other basic facilities besides provision of playground.
Dr. Singh patiently listened to the grievances of people and assured that genuine issues would be considered and redressed in a time bound manner. He directed the officers to look into all the issues raised by the people and initiate necessary steps for early redressal of the same.
During meeting a deputation of people asked for providing fast track employment to the dam oustees of 22 villages which are lying pending for the last two or three years under R&R Policy 1993. Dr. Singh patiently heard the issues of the deputation and said that genuine issues have already been taken up in the northern zone council and assured his best to solve this issue at the earliest.
Various other issues which were brought to the notice of the Deputy Chief Minister were separation of PDD pannel of Mahanpur, scarcity of drinking water, provision of science subject in the Degree College Mahanpur and fulfilling of the vacant post of BDO Mahanpur.
Meeting was attended by the Tehsildar Mahanpur, AEE PDD and other Tehsil and sectoral officers. In another Public Grievance and Redressal Camp organised at PWD Rest House, Billawar, Dr Nirmal Singh listened to the peoples problems and issued on spot instructions to the concerned departments for their redressal. SDM Billawar R.S Charak, district, Tehsil and sectoral officers were among those who were present on the occasion.
