Redouble efforts to promote pro-poor policies of Congress: Sham

JAMMU: Former Minister and Senior Vice President JKPCC, Sham Lal Sharma exhorted the youth workers to re-double their efforts in promoting the pro-poor policies and achievements of Congress as Rahul Gandhi conferred huge responsibility on the shoulders of youth to strengthen the Congress at grass root level.
Welcoming the newly elected National Secretaries, Sham said Congress has always taken care of interests and aspirations of different sections belonging to various faiths, castes, creed and colour and there is no such alternative force in the country which has its history, principles and approach towards poor and downtrodden sections of the society.
Sham Lal asserted that Congress is the only unifying force in the country and State as it is the Party of all regions, regions and section of pluralistic society.
Sham once more congratulated the newly elected National Secretaries Indian Youth Congress Dr Uma Shankar Pandey, Shishpal Singh and Abid Kashmiri whom were accorded warm reception by President J and K Youth Congress, Pranav Shagotra and other youth Congress leaders after their arrival here on Monday.
As National Secretaries reached JKPCC headquarters this afternoon, a large number of Youth Congress leaders who were already waiting for them, garlanded them profusely and raised slogans in support of their leaders and Congress Party.
Apparently cheerful and full of enthusiasm, the Youth Congress activists received them outside the PCC office in the form of a rally amidst beating of drums.
National Secretaries expressed gratitude to AICC President Sonia Gandhi and AICC Vice-President Rahul Gandhi, AICC General Secretary Ambika Soni, AICC Secretary Suraj Hedge and National President Youth Congress Amarinder Singh Raja.
On the issue of demonetisation, Shagotra said that people are being harassed in the name of surgical strike against black money. The people are being deprived to withdraw and their legitimate money in banks, he added. Criticizing the Central Government for implementing the policy without adequate preparations, PYC President said the Centre should have first made currency notes available in all banks across the country. “Patients, daily wagers, farmers, vendors, shopkeepers and tribal people living in the far-flung areas having no any bank accounts are facing a tough time due to sudden announcement.
In the end, National Secretaries expressed their gratitude for the kind support to the youth congress leaders and others in the party. They said they would try their best to come to the expectations of all.
