Red Cross organizes painting competition

SRINAGAR: As part of the celebrations of World Red Cross Day, 2015, Indian Red Cross Society, Jammu and Kashmir in collaboration with Directorate of School Education, Kashmir organised a painting competition at Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Kothi Bagh, Exchange Road, Srinagar.

Around 250 students from various Districts of the valley participated in the competition. The painting competition was held on the theme of the World Red Cross Day, 2015 “Fundamental Principles in Action”.

General Secretary, Indian Red Cross Society, J and K State, Roma Wani visited Girls Higher Secondary School, Kothi Bagh during the painting competition. Wani expressed her pleasure to see the interest of the students towards the competition and painting on the theme depicting different activities of Red Cross especially the paintings showing Red Cross response.

Advocating the voluntary services in Red Cross, she emphasized that such activities for students are aimed at developing the spirit of volunteerism in the children and help them know the humanitarian mission of the Movement.

Principal, Girls Higher Secondary School, Kothi Bagh, Fatima Tak, representatives of the Department of School Education, Teacher Councellors from various schools appreciated the involvement of students in World Red Cross Day celebrations.
