Recovery of army uniform creates flutter, SFs on high alert

JAMMU: Recovery of an army uniform along with worn out boots from near an under bridge near Domel late Friday night on the Jammu-Katra road link created flutter in the entire security grid.
Senior police officers including SSP Jammu, SSP Udhampur and SSP Reasi along with DIG Jammu rushed to the spot along with posse of Special Operations Group to deal with the emerging situation.
The alert was raised by the local dhaba owners along the highway near Domel late Friday evening. The eyewitnesses claimed they had spotted suspicious movement of two youth in army fatigue carrying rucksacks.
The security along the Jammu Srinagar National Highway was tightened and security check points were activated to maintain tight vigil to rule out the possibility of any possible militant strike.
Security in the Katra base camp of Shi Mata Vaishno Devi shine and in neighboring districts of Reasi and Udhampur too were beefed up.
The army authorities were also kept in the loop as several security installations are lined up along the route to Udhampur.
After thorough inquiry and constant combing and search operations, the security forces were able to zero in on the two jawans of army who had descended near Domel while returning from Srinagar.
The duo were travelling in the civilian bus in uniform and after stepping out they had decided to change their clothes and one of them threw his uniform, in bad shape, under the bridge before proceeding further.
